Network monitoring cost calculator for a small MSP
What the same network costs on four tools, using each vendor's published list price (read 2026-10-18). It runs in your browser. Each tool counts something different, so read the notes before comparing the numbers.
Your network
PRTG prices by sensor, and its own page equates 500 sensors with “about 50 devices”, so the default is 10 sensors per device. A switch with many monitored ports needs more.
Monthly cost
| Tool | Plan it needs | List price | What it counts |
|---|---|---|---|
| SoloNOC | Solo | $24 to $29 / month | Solo covers 5 sites and 50 devices at a flat price: billed annually or monthly, the same plan. |
| PRTG | PRTG 500 | $200 / month | 400 sensors needs the 500-sensor license; the price is per month, paid annually. Source. |
| NinjaOne | Per endpoint, 50 or fewer | $150 / month | The published rate for 50 or fewer endpoints. NinjaOne counts managed endpoints, and says it does not publicly list its full pricing. Source. |
| UptimeRobot | Free | $0 | Up to 50 monitors at a 5-minute interval; SMS and voice credits are bought separately. Source. |
How to read this
- They count different things. PRTG prices by sensor, NinjaOne by endpoint, UptimeRobot by monitor, and SoloNOC by the site and device caps of a flat plan. A monitor, a sensor and a device are not interchangeable units, so a lower number is not automatically the better buy. Check what each tool does for the job you actually have.
- SoloNOC’s figure is flat inside a plan. The monthly range is the annual rate per month to the month-to-month rate. A plan is chosen by the site and device caps it enforces, not by a per-device meter.
- The vendor figures are list prices from the pages linked in the sources below, for the units each vendor counts. Taxes, add-ons, SMS credits, support tiers and quotes are not included, and NinjaOne’s page says it does not list its full pricing.
